The Joys of Moving
Â
There are few among us who have never experienced a move. You know, where you take everything you've aquired in a lifetime, put it in boxes, put it in a truck, and put it somewhere else? Sounds simple right? It should be simple, it should be just that simple! And it was when we did the old college move, everything in big black plastic bags, tied closed and tossed on the back of a pick-up truck driven by the only poor sap you knew who owned one. The pay was simple and wonderful: beer and pizza. Â
These days, it requires a bit more. Perhaps you will need to sell a house, and make postal service address changes. Perform a purge of all the things you no longer love, need or find beautiful. You need to make calls to coordinate service turn-offs and ons for energy, cable, internet, phone, water, and trash. Send cards out to friends and family notifying them of your new address. Coordinate the hiring of movers, hoping they understand how hard you've worked for all the things that will, for a time, be in their hands. The cardboard boxes, unoticed before the day before you decide to move, now become precious commodities sized up on sight for which of our possessions will fit in them. We now have belongings that we'd like to keep in one piece, or unwrinkled, unbroken, and definitely not missing two weeks later when we go to look for it. Sounds like a full-time job! And it is, for us!
Denver Professional Organizers can take the stress out of moving for you. We do the work, organizing, and coordinating of services for you. No job is too big or too small. Whether you're buying a new, larger home, downsizing, moving to a retirement resort, or just need a room or two organized, we can help.Â
